Danny's double CD of the York Bowen Piano Sonatas was released by
Hyperion and is Editor's Choice in Gramophone Magazine's
December issue, as well as CD of the Week in the Daily Telegraph.

October 2009
On October 1st Danny officially took over as the new Artistic Director
of the Hampstead & Highgate Festival, which will next take place
from September 24th to October 3rd 2010. Previously over the summer,
Danny recorded a disc of C P E Bach Keyboard Sonatas (for Hyperion,
to be released in June 2010) and performed at the Bard Music Festival
in New York, garnering praise in the New York Times.
May 2009
On April 29th Danny gave the USA premiere of York Bowen's 3rd Piano
Concerto ('Fantasia') with the Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra
and conductor Rebecca Miller, and was greeted with a standing ovation.
This concert closed Danny's 2008-9 season, which included two recitals
at London's Wigmore Hall, Prokofiev's 3rd Piano Concerto (also with
the Louisiana Philharmonic), and recitals throughout the UK and
in Canada. Meanwhile his debut CD has continued to garner accolades
in the musical press, most recently in Fanfare, The American
Record Guide, and BBC Music Magazine.
November 2008
Danny Driver's debut CD of Piano Concertos by York Bowen was released
on the Hyperion label this month, attracting widespread critical
acclaim in Gramophone (recommended recording), International
Record Review, The Daily Telegraph (Classical CDs of
the Week), and Classic FM Magazine. Please click

June 2008
After a busy month of May that included a recital at the Vienna
Boesendorferfabrik, concerts at the new Bedford Chamber Music Festival,
and a performance of Howard Ferguson's Piano Concerto at the Hampstead
& Highgate Festival that was applauded in the Sunday Times, Danny
is preparing to record all of York Bowen's Piano Sonatas for Hyperion
Records during July and August. His first CD for Hyperion, featuring
Bowen's 3rd and 4th Piano Concertos (see news items below) will
be released on November 1st.
